Extensive trucking network from SFO

With the introduction of the new non-stop route from Copenhagen to San Francisco in April 2013, SAS Cargo extends the scheduled trucking network with 15 new routes from San Francisco to Canadian and US cities.

Together with the existing trucking network from New York, Washington and Chicago, SAS Cargo now covers the major American cities with more than 60 scheduled truck routes. Furthermore there are multiple ad hoc trucking opportunities.

The new trucking network from San Francisco is described in the table.

SAS open the door to the US West Coast

Today SAS begins flying six times a week from Copenhagen to San Francisco on the US West Coast.

North America is an important and growing market for SAS, which already flies to New York, Chicago and Washington. Scandinavia is a market that has no direct flights to the US West Coast and there has therefore been demand from several Nordic and international companies for a smooth connection to this part of the world. SAS is now fulfilling that wish.

This route will be served by an Airbus A340-300, the largest aircraft in the SAS fleet. For cargo customers, it provides up to 20 tons capacity. SAS Cargo offers an extensive scheduled trucking network from San Francisco to a number of Canadian and US cities.

By scheduling the flight departure time from Copenhagen at 12.25 in the afternoon, SAS has created excellent opportunities for good connections from Stockholm, Oslo and many other destinations in Scandinavia and northern Europe.

Facts about SAS and San Francisco

- This is the first time that SAS has flown to San Francisco.
- SAS flies six times a week from Copenhagen to San Francisco: every day of the week except Tuesday.
- SAS is the only airline to fly directly between Copenhagen and San Francisco

World-class punctuality

Scandinavian Airlines, SAS, continues to achieve world-class punctuality.
According to independent source FlightStats, 87.91% of all SAS flights landed on time in 2012. This puts SAS in second place in the "Major European Airlines" category and in third place in "Major International Airlines". StarAlliance was also in second place in the new "AirlineAlliance" category.

"Although SAS did not finish in first place this year, we have still achieved a fantastic result and I am proud of all our staff, who work hard every day to make sure we provide our customers with good punctuality. Hard work month after month, commitment and focus make us one of the world's most punctual airlines, which is something we are very pleased about," says Flemming Jensen, Vice President Operations at SAS, who also congratulates the winners of each category.

Japan Airlines took first place among "Major International Airlines" and LOTwas the most punctual in the "Major European Airlines" category. Aegean Airlines had the best punctuality among smaller regional airlines inEurope.

"The FlightStats results clearly show that we offer our customers world-class punctuality and we have now set our sights on achieving first place in 2013,"
says Flemming Jensen.
