All forms of transport are, by definition, not environment-friendly. Even so, airfreight can contribute to minimizing the environmental impact of transport. Throughout our organization, SAS Cargo is committed to continuous improvement of our environmental performance.
Only airline in the world to have both certification
SAS and SAS Cargo is, ISO 140001 certified but also EMAS certified since September 23, 2010. This means that SAS Group is the only airline in the wold too have both certificates.
EMAS in brief
EMAS is part of the EU Commissionn's action program, "Towards Sustainable Development". In Addition to what is already covered by ISO 14001, EMAS requires that all employees are involved in environmental work. That the most important environmental aspects and the company's environmental performance are published.
We work strategically to provide environmental and sustainability focus in all our activities. One example of such an initiative is the unique environmental calculator on www.sascargo.com, where customers can calculate the environmental effects of a given transport.
